Dialogue from the residents of Black Space and Deeper Well suggest that, whenever Sunny's subconscious begins to remind him of the truth, Omori 'resets' Headspace in order to lock all reminders of it, such as Something, back into Black Space, until it inevitably leaks out again. Omori's true purpose is to repress everything related to Mari's death using his complete control over Headspace. Sunny's repeated escape into Headspace is strongly implied to be the reason behind his refusal to leave his house for four years. The entirety of Headspace seems to exist solely for the purpose of escapism, a distraction from the reality and consequences of Mari's death: Mari is still alive and well, and his friends still hang out together, exactly the same as they were four years ago, before Mari's death. Inside Headspace, Omori can freely visit a dream world where his friends reside along with what appear to be representations of his acquaintances and fictional mascots. The door to Headspace appears after this happens, suggesting that its creation was a direct consequence of Omori's 'birth.' The origins of Omori are not fully clarified, although it is heavily implied through the cutscene that plays at the beginning of the Two Days Left dream that Sunny originally manifested as himself in White Space, but eventually manifested Omori, and was no longer able/willing to enter White Space as himself. WARNING: This section contains spoilers for the main story of OMORI.Īt some point following Mari's death, Sunny presumably began visiting Headspace as Omori. He is notably never seen emoting outside of battle. It's also noted that he has a rather solemn, stoic demeanor, with characters like Mari implying that he almost never smiles. However, his commentary throughout Headspace, and his writings in the Foe Facts! journal all suggest that his personality is, compared to his friends, very grounded and snarky. His hair style is practically identical to Sunny's.Īs a silent protagonist, Omori's personality is widely up to player interpretation. While his friends - and the rest of Headspace - are vibrantly colored, Omori is always rendered in complete monochrome. Omori is a young boy who wears a black tank top, long black socks, and shorts that are striped black and white, vaguely resembling the keys of a piano. His trusty Knife can cut through anything." He's been living in White Space for as long as he can remember, but it seems like he can't remember much else.
